Churches should not be isolated communities within their neighborhood, but how easy it is for us who are commanded to love our neighbors to not even know who they are!  The Community Cookout is a free annual event designed primarily to bridge the gap between our church and the hundreds of families that live in our immediate vicinity.  We love our community, and we want its members to know that.

What would a cookout be without an abundance of food, and typical fare includes plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, enchiladas, salads, and desserts.  While children enjoy an inflatable bouncy castle and waterslide, adults and teens can compete in a tug-of-war, watermelon eating contest, bean bags, and various other activities and contests.  The lively games for all ages are always the highlight of the afternoon, even if it means just watching it all unfold in front of you.

If you have any questions about the cookout, please contact Greg Wright at greg.wright@cbcjoliet.org.
